Prayer can tell a lot…

Published by howard_girl_2013 at 1:04 pm under Chronicles Edit This

So my friends and I were coming out of a movie yesterday trying to find our way to Macy’s when a woman stopped us in the middle of the sidewalk. She asked us if we knew if we were saved and I said yes, M said yes also but then proceed to storm away. The lady was like wait so I grabbed M’s hand and kept her their (this happened after each question the lady asked). So she asked us how we were saved and if we knew for 100% that we were going to heaven ect… So finally she asked us to pray with her and we did. And when she asked us to repeat after her in the prayer we did (ALL of us). So she says thank you and sends us on our merry was and the M and S jump on me saying how stupid that was for us to stand there because we didn’t know that lady and could have been trying to put an evil spirit in us or some other such nonsense. And I was just explaining that all they had to say was no thank you and step back (not be rude like M was) and they didn’t even have to say the prayer, they could’ve just kept quiet. Well I think we just agreed to disagree on that point. I bring this up because I was talking to my mom about it this morning and I asked her if I was wrong. She told me no because I didn’t get any bad vibes and the lady was doing as any evangelist doing; just trying to save sinners and she wasn’t trying to put the devil in us buy having us say the sinners prayer. I don’t know about them but I for one was not ashamed to pray on the sidewalk of a busy street. I truly commend that women for even getting out there and doing what she was doing because how many of us can actually say that we would ever do it.
I am truly getting sick of these laundry card machines. I’ve lost $20 so far trying to do laundry and like a crazy person I used the same machine. Maybe it just doesn’t like me, I don’t know but it is truly ridiculous. I just want to wash my clothes with out any problems, but of course that’s to much to ask.
So last Friday their was a protest on the Administration (A) building. Although kind of drastic, it was much needed because the workers of the A Building are rude and they don’t want to help anyone. Apparently over 50% of the students at Howard aren’t validated which mean that they can’t really register for classes because their grades won’t be counted. Also the students’ financial aid is just sitting on the files but haven’t been processed and those who are supposed to have housing don’t because it hasn’t been posted through Fin Aid. I am so grateful that besides no one picking up phones, I haven’t had any problems with the A Building.
This weekend was L’s birthday and we celebrated all weekend with her. On friday we went to this “Greek” restaurant (I put Greek in parenthesis because it wasn’t real greek food, or it wasn’t the traditional food that you get at most restaurants) But it was still an excelent restaurant even though they didn’t have our reserved table ready for us. On saturday we went to a house party which I have to say was pretty fun until it got supper hot and the windows started to fall. After the party was shut down by the police we went to McDonalds and hung out there for 45min and just talked. On our way back to the campus we stopped by the yard where the party seemed to have moved and we danced to the dj (Howard truly makes a party out of anything) well after about an hour and a half the cops shut the music down and so we just talked and finally proceed to make our way back to our dorms. Sunday we went to the mall and I spent and unreasonable amount of money on clothes and jewelry that I didn’t need. To finish the three day weekend (Labor day) off we went to the movies yesterday to see The Final Destination. Why I went to see that movies I have no idea but never again. And you already know what happened after that (see first paragraph)
I don’t know if I previously mentioned this or not (probably not) but I have workstudy at the bookstore. I absolutely love it. What better job for a book worm like me. I even learned how to work a cash register which completely amazed me because I always thought they were kind of intimidating but it was a piece of cake. And I get to wear my two favorite colors, Black & Red. The other works are great also, it was kind of weird at first because I didn’t really know anyone, and I still don’t really know anyone, but they’re more open to me. And I LOVE working with the coustmers, they are too funny and they actually smile back and say thank you!! And yea technically I’m not studying while I’m working, but that’s alright because I actually enjoy what I’m doing.
Now my classes. No I’ll save that topic for a fresh day.
You know I started this blog to do my Seminar assignments and I have still yet to type it up. Hopefully by tonight I’ll post it. They’re just something about being told what to write about that makes me procrastinate and just take my time. But this is for a grade or at least a passing credit.
Well I just got to class and I can’t concentrate with my teacher distracting me (with his teaching and what not) so I’m signing off and I’ll finish this later…
That’s All for Now
